IPv6 is no longer a technical discussion: it's a strategic decision. The scarcity of IPv4 addresses, the sustained increase of their cost in the secondary market and the operational complexity of continuing to extend IPv4 require rethinking the network architecture from the core to the access. We design transition schemes that allow coexistence with IPv4 when necessary, but with a clear roadmap toward simpler, more scalable and more economical IPv6-only networks to operate. We analyze each environment to define the best transition scheme: dual-stack, IPv6-only with interconnection mechanisms, or progressive combinations according to the state of the network, services and customers. We don't impose models: we make technical decisions aligned with operational and business objectives. From an executive standpoint, IPv6 reduces costs in the medium and long term: it eliminates the need to acquire increasingly expensive IPv4 addresses, simplifies the core, reduces dependencies on massive NAT and improves transport and routing efficiency.
